“Is any among you sick? Let him call for the presbyters of the Church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will save the sick man and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.” James 5:14-15
The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick confers special graces on those who are experiencing difficulties due to any type of illness, pending surgeries, or age. In the case of grave illness, it should be conferred at the beginning of the illness. The Sacrament cannot be given to those who have died. Contact the priests at the parish office (815) 385-5673 to schedule an anointing, or if in the hospital, ask them to call the parish for you.
